Arianna Casoli will continue her NASCAR Whelen Euro Series adventure with Italian team CAAL Racing. Casoli signed a contract for the 2020 NWES season and will chase her third career Lady Trophy in the EuroNASCAR 2 (EN2) championship. The Reggio Emilia, Italy native first joined CAAL Racing midway through the 2016 season.
By finishing 15th in points in EuroNASCAR 2 in 2019, Casoli also took third place in the Legend Trophy. She scored her best result of the season in the first Circuit Zolder final with the 11th place under the checkered flag. With 47 EN2 starts, she is one of the most experienced competitors on the grid.
“I am really happy to be part of the CAAL family for the fifth consecutive season and to continue driving the #54. It is a car I grew very fond of along the years,” said Casoli. “I can’t wait for the season to start and I want to not only defend the Lady Trophy but also try to do better than last year’s third place against the Legend drivers. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is great because it gives you opportunities to compete at all levels in a strong and numerous field.”
Casoli will have a new home NASCAR GP in 2020 thanks to the addition of the Autodromo di Vallelunga to the NWES calendar. The Italian is looking forward to compete in a NASCAR race at a track that has a special place in her career.
“I am excited to race at Vallelunga. It is a special track for me and I took part in my very first touring car race there. Then when I came back to racing in 2015 I started from the pole, again in touring cars, due to the inverted grid in my first wet race in 12 year,” concluded Casoli. “I can’t wait to get back in the car and get the season started.”
The first event of the 2020 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will take place in Valencia, Spain on April 25-26 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo with the seventh edition of the Valencia NASCAR Fest.
