After impressing with some strong results in his debut season with Braxx Racing in 2019, 22-year-old British driver Scott Jeffs extended his contract with the Belgian team and will be back full-time in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2020. Jeffs will drive the #78 Ford Mustang in the EuroNASCAR PRO championship.
Jeffs competed in eight races in the 2019 NWES season – six in EuroNASCAR 2 (EN2) and two in EuroNASCAR PRO (ENPRO). The highlight of his EN 2 campaign was a spectacular performance at Brands Hatch, where he was in contention to win in front of his home crowd. In his ENPRO debut at the Hockenheimring, Jeffs immediately found a strong pace and scored an impressive 9th place finish in the Semi Final 2 round.
“I’m really happy to be back racing in EuroNASCAR, as I always knew 2020 would be a difficult season for me, as I’m currently in my final year at university. However, the opportunity arose and I didn’t want to miss it,” said Jeffs, who’s studying Business Management and Marketing at Nottingham Trent University. “EuroNASCAR was the main goal for 2020, as I had a great time racing in the series in 2019. Although I didn’t compete in all the rounds, I think I made a strong impression in both, ENPRO and EN2, after giving some solid performances. I’m looking forward to being back on the grid and seeing what this year holds for me with Braxx Racing.”
Stepping up and competing full-time among the best NASCAR drivers in Europe in the EuroNASCAR PRO championship is going to be a major step in Jeffs’ career. The British driver is confident he’ll be up to the task at hand with the support of Braxx Racing.
“This year I’ll be competing in ENPRO which is always going to be a challenge, but after already finishing ninth and 13th in my debut in Hockenheim last year, I’m quite confident. I feel that it’s a challenge I’m ready for! My goal is to be running within the top-10 regularly which I think is more than achievable with Braxx Racing as they are a great team to work with and always provide a very competitive car. I still have a lot to learn, so once I’m happy with my own performance, I am sure we can be racing for the podium positions!” concluded Jeffs.
The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will be back in action with the 2020 season opener on April 25-26 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. With Braxx Racing, Scott Jeffs is poised to raise his game in EuroNASCAR’s top championship.
