Max Lanza joins CAAL Racing for the 2020 EuroNASCAR season

Max Lanza unveiled his plans for the upcoming 2020 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season in the prestigious context of the Hotel Des Anglais in Sanremo, Italy during the Italian Music Festival. The Italian will join CAAL Racing to drive the #88 Chevrolet SS in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship.

“This is the start of a new era for me. I am really happy and honoured to join a top team such as CAAL Racing. I have a lot of expectations for this season because I’m sure I’ll have everything I need to compete at the front and have a chance to conquer the EuroNASCAR 2 title,” said Lanza.

“We are enthusiastic about having Max with us and working with him in the 2020 EuroNASCAR season,” said Luca Canneori, CAAL Racing’s Team Manager. “We’ll start soon with a series of tests and we believe we can fight for the top spots with him. His first complete season will be a challenge and we’ll do our best to provide all he needs to bring home great results.”

A native of Rome, Lanza made his NWES debut in 2018 and competed on a partial schedule for two seasons. He took part in 15 EuroNASCAR 2 races, with the fourth place at Valencia in the 2019 season opener as his best result, and three EuroNASCAR PRO races. After two years with an average finishing position of 18.9, Lanza is ready to take the next step and compete full-time with CAAL Racing, one of the powerhouses of the European NASCAR series.

“This year I am particularly looking forward to the Most event because I didn’t have the opportunity to be there in 2019 and it seems to be a fantastic event.” concluded the Italian. “Obviously I also can’t wait to race at my home track of Vallelunga. The track is very challenging and there are plenty of fast corners where I think I can really give my best.”

Lanza will make his debut with CAAL Racing in on April 25-26 at Valencia, Spain, when the NASCAR Whelen Series will officially kick-off the 2020 season.
