A young and talented driver from Italy will join the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series grid in the 2020 season. After being selected for the NWES Drivers Recruitment Program and positively impressing in the November Fontenay Le Comte test day, Francesco Garisto signed a contract with 42 Racing to be part of the 2020 EuroNASCAR 2 championship.
The 17-year-old race driver has his roots in Italy in Formula 4 and Lotus Cup racing and already proved his skills despite his young age. The Monza native will make his NWES debut in the 2020 season opener at Brands Hatch on June 6-7.
“It’s a great honour for me to be announced as official driver of the 42 Racing team and to be driving in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series for the upcoming season”, said the motivated youngster. “I want to thank NWES President – CEO Jerome Galpin and the EuroNASCAR organization for selecting me for the NWES Drivers Recruitment Program. After the tests I made in Fontenay Le Comte in November the series gave me the possibility to receive an important scholarship.”
“For me it’s a dream come true and I’ll give my best and work hard in order to fight for top results. I’m really pumped up, motivated and looking forward to racing all around Europe in those amazing and pure American V8 beasts,” concluded Garisto.
Due to the postponement of the Valencia race to the end of the season, the NASCAR GP UK will mark the season opener of the 2020 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series championship. Four exciting races will take place on June 6-7 at the iconic Indy Circuit of Brands Hatch.
