With the September 12-13 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season opener at Vallelunga about to go green, british touring car ace Daniel Rowbottom joined Dutch powerhouse Hendriks Motorsport to drive the #7 Ford Mustang in the EuroNASCAR PRO championship.
Coming from BTCC, the 31-year-old will make his NASCAR debut in the NASCAR GP Italy and share the #7 Ford Mustang with NWES veteran Martin Doubek supported by Cataclean and Holley Performance.
Rowbottom is a multiple karting champion, former Radical World Cup Winner and the 2019 Top Rookie in the BTCC. The Worcester native is eager to start the season in the EuroNASCAR PRO division with the Dutch championship winning team.
"We chose to do the EuroNASCAR, as in 2020 with the world wide COVID pandemic, myself and my partners Cataclean, decided to pull out of BTCC due to the financial climate and also the fact that the events are limited due to lack of public and fans," said the Britain. "Our partner in North America, Holley Performance, wanted us to continue a motorsport programme as it helps them with the retail of Cataclean in the USA. EuroNASCAR was the obvious choice, with its great exposure and history, and also it’s close links to the USA, it gives us a great platform to work with Holley, and it gets me racing in 2020 learning a new discipline. I am looking forward to the challenge and I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun!"
The NASCAR GP Italy will be broadcasted live on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitch profile and Motorsport.tv. It’s the first time the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series visits the track located near Rome, Italy.
