Marko Stipp Motorsport signed Scott Jeffs to take over the team’s #46 Chevrolet Camaro in the EuroNASCAR PRO Championship for the NASCAR GP UK at Brands Hatch. The 23-year-old Briton will drive alongside EuroNASCAR 2 rookie Miguel Gomes, who made his debut with Marko Stipp Motorsport at the season opener in Valencia, Spain.
Jeffs will make his return to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series after six races in EuroNASCAR 2 and two races in EuroNASCAR PRO in 2019. His best result came at the 2019 rounds at Brands Hatch when the Stratford-upon-Avon native crossed the finish line in second position, but a penalty shuffled him down the order to fifth place.
Accordingly, Jeffs is now keen to deliver another strong performance at his home race: ”I am very happy to be returning to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series as it’s a great championship with some very quick drivers. It has been almost 2 years since I drove in EuroNASCAR so I will need to try and get up to speed with things quickly. Luckily, I am very familiar with Brand Hatch so that will go in my favour.”
“As I’ll be racing in the EuroNASCAR PRO Championship, my goal is to try and get two top-10 finishes. I feel with the support of Marko Stipp Motorsport this is very much achievable. There is no reason to not be fighting for those top spots,” Jeffs contemplated his prospects.
Team owner Marko Stipp shared his freshly signed driver’s anticipation: “We are very happy to have Scott on board for the British event. He has already proven to be a fast driver around Brands Hatch and his good knowledge of the track will be valuable. Coming back to the great British fans this year, we hope that Scott will have their support and score some good results!”
The NASCAR GP UK will take place at Brands Hatch on July 3-4. Marko Stipp Motorsport will field the #46 Camaro with Jeffs and Gomes, while Yevgen Sokolovskiy will be back in action at the wheel of the #48 Gulf Grandprix Originals Camaro.
