Solaris Motorsport will be back at full strength when the Italian team heads to Autodrom Most for the NASCAR GP Czech Republic. Last time around at Brands Hatch, Francesco Sini did not appear on the entry list as he awaited the birth of his second child. That’s why Alina Loibnegger had to master the tricky Brands Hatch Indy Circuit on her own. For Round 5 & 6 at Autodrom Most, the Italian squad will again compete in both NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Championships.
Thanks to the NWES regulation – the two worst results of the regular season will be dropped ahead of the Finals in Vallelunga, Italy – missing an event is not an insurmountable obstacle for Sini, who welcomed his son in the meantime.
“I’ll be finally back at the wheel of my #12 Chevrolet Camaro,” said Sini before the event in the Czech Republic. “For the first time in my racing career I was forced to skip a race but I had the best reasons to do it. I became a father for the second time! But still I followed the team’s steps in each session from home. I missed my favourite office so much. I hope to have a good weekend during my comeback and believe that team team and Alina can do very well. It’s a new starting point for a successful season and of course I would like to come back home with a trophy for my newborn boy!”
After missing the NASCAR GP UK, Sini was shuffled down the order in the EuroNASCAR PRO standings but two good results at the 4.148 kilometer long Autodrom Most could boost him up the ranks. Loibnegger, who’s in her EuroNASCAR 2 rookie season sits in 17th after two solid outings at Brands Hatch and Valencia. The Austrian is only five points shy of Arianna Casoli in the battle for the Lady Trophy.
“I’m really happy to be at Solaris Motorsport because I feel very comfortable with the team,” said Loibnegger. “The guys do an incredible job and always provide me with a perfect car to race with. The tracks in Valencia and Brands Hatch were completely new for me and that’s why I try to prepare for Most in the best possible way. I’m looking forward to the event and I want to gather more experience and score good results. I will give my best to stand at the top of the Lady Trophy podium. My goal is to improve step by step as I plan to stay in EuroNASCAR in the coming year.”
The NASCAR GP Czech Republic at Autodrom Most takes place on August 28-29 at Autodrom Most. Qualifying and all races will be broadcasted live on EuroNASCAR’s social media platforms – YouTube, NWES App, Facebook, Twitch – and Motorsport.tv.
