The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series released a statement about checkered flag displaying issues at the June 11- 12 NASCAR GP UK at Brands Hatch.
The statement is the following:
“The NWES Organization noted the miscommunication problems happening with the Flagman during Sunday’s race leading to issues with the displaying of the Checkered Flag. The events didn’t affect the sporting results of the races.
The NWES Organization will conduct investigations to determine the circumstances of those miscommunications and develop a new process with its track partners to prevent this situation from happening again.”
The EuroNASCAR PRO races were won respectively by three-time champion Alon Day and Alexander Graff, who became the first Swedish driver to get a victory in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
In EuroNASCAR 2, Alberto Naska took his second consecutive win on Saturday, while Round 4 on Sunday was won by Liam Hezemans, who went from third to first in Overtime.
The next event of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will take place on July 9-10 at the Autodromo di Vallelunga, Italy.
