Luli Del Castello leads the Lady Trophy with two wins and a string of podium finishes

With four female drivers on the grid, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series sees the most competitive Lady Trophy battle in EuroNASCAR 2 in its history. Luli Del Castello and Aliyyah Koloc took two wins each in the first part of the season but it’s the Italian who is leading the Lady Trophy after a spectacular NASCAR GP UK at Brands Hatch.

Del Castello collected 81 points so far and sits in 14th in the overall EuroNASCAR 2 standings. Consistency is key and Del Castello impressed not only for the two wins but also for climbing on the podium in every race so far. The driver of the #54 Chevrolet leads Buggyra ZM-MFT Racing’s Koloc by 17 points.

Just like Del Castello, Koloc debuted in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2022, putting both in the Rookie Trophy ranks as well. Koloc showed a strong pace with two Lady Trophy wins but crashes and issues set her back in the overall standings. What the 17-year-old Dubai native needs to find in Italy is consistency. Ahead of the NASCAR GP Italy, she’s third in the Lady Trophy standings.

Currently second in the trophy standings is Alina Loibnegger, who boasts 7 Lady Trophy wins in her career but is still chasing the title. The Austrian joined the EuroNASCAR 2 Championship back in 2021 after collecting important experience in the Club Challenge and is now driving for Racingfuel Motorsport.

She made it onto the podium in three out of four races so far and experienced a relatively trouble free start to the season. Loibnegger is only 15 points shy of Del Castello and two points ahead of Koloc. The 2021 Lady Trophy runner-up is ready to battle for the lead in Italy.

Reigning Lady Trophy Champion Arianna Casoli sits in fourth, just three points behind Koloc after a complicated weekend at Brands Hatch in which, despite having to jump on the #2 car of Academy Motorsport / Alex Caffi Motorsport on Sunday, she fought tooth and nail. The Italian has been part of EuroNASCAR since 2016, winning the Lady Trophy a record three times and amassing a record 32 race wins among female drivers. With her home race coming up next on July 9-10 at Autodromo di Vallelunga, the Reggio Emilia native will do her best to close the gap on Del Castello and go on the hunt for her fourth overall Lady Trophy win.

Qualifying and all races from the NASCAR GP Italy will be broadcast live on EuroNASCAR.com, the NWES YouTube channel, Motorsport.tv and plenty of TV services from around the world.
