The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series has featured female race drivers from around the world since its inception, and there is one who has dominated the history of the EuroNASCAR 2 Lady Trophy: Arianna Casoli. The Speedhouse driver won her record-breaking fourth Lady Trophy title in 2023, increasing her total to 42 victories in the special classification. This season, the Italian took ten Lady Trophy victories in twelve races and finished 16th overall in the EuroNASCAR 2 standings. The 49-year-old has built a legacy in the NWES with four Lady Trophy titles and one Legend Trophy overall win.
Casoli joined EuroNASCAR in 2015 and has been driving for Speedhouse since the 2022 season. At the wheel of the #14 Ford Mustang, the Reggio Emilia native was the dominant force in the 2023 Lady Trophy, where Casoli was the only full-time competitor, with Alina Loibnegger, Michaela Dorcikova (in EuroNASCAR PRO) and Stefani Mogorovic competing part-time. Loibnegger won the Lady Trophy classification two times, both at Autodrom Most.
Casoli’s strong results paved her way to the top of the Lady Trophy podium, and Speedhouse team boss Lucas Lasserre was also impressed with the Italian’s development in the 2023 season.
Casoli won the Lady Trophy for the first time in 2016 and then added three more titles in 2019, 2021 and 2023. In 2020, she also topped the standings in the Legend Trophy for drivers 40 and over in EuroNASCAR 2 – the perfect home for up-and-coming talent and fast gentleman drivers.
In the overall standings, Casoli finished ahead of Loibnegger, who in 2023 raced part-time in EuroNASCAR PRO with Racingfuel Motorsport and EuroNASCAR 2 with Bremotion. Mogorovic made her NWES debut with Academy / Alex Caffi Motorsport and took her first steps behind the wheel of a 400-horsepower V8 beast without any driving aids. The Croatian showed solid pace and talent in her first official competition aboard her Ford Mustang. Dorcikova raced part-time in EuroNASCAR PRO, rounding out a fantastic group of female drivers for the 2023 season.
