Ulysse Delsaux wants to win the EuroNASCAR PRO title in the 2024 season – The Speedhouse driver believes he has a shot in the second half of the season
“Anything is possible,” said Ulysse Delsaux when asked by a fan on Instagram about his title aspirations for the 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season. The Speedhouse driver sits seventh in the EuroNASCAR PRO standings, 49 points behind championship leader Vittorio Ghirelli. The native of Troyes has scored five top-10 finishes so far, but is still looking for his first podium of the season. Solid runs and great consistency make him a title contender, but the Frenchman, who won the 2018 EuroNASCAR 2 championship, must become a regular contender for race wins and podiums in the second half of the season in order to keep his championship hopes alive.
Delsaux will leave nothing to chance and prepare as best he can to be among the top-5 drivers at the regular season finale at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic and in the playoffs in Germany and Belgium. With double points on the line in the final four races of the 2024 NWES season, the driver of the #14 Mustang has a chance to close the gap on the leaders and compete for the title at the EuroNASCAR Finals at Circuit Zolder.
“My goal is to improve my technique, my feeling and my confidence in the car,” said the 26-year-old. “I trust the work of my whole team because Speedhouse always does a great job. I will keep myself physically fit and work on my strength, agility and reaction time. I will take things as they come, but I will give my best in every race and try to maximize the results to get as many points as possible. I’m really happy to be able to compete against the best NASCAR drivers in Europe in EuroNASCAR PRO.”
In addition to Delsaux, another Speedhouse driver will be challenging for the overall win: team owner Lucas Lasserre. After finishing second overall in a dramatic final race in 2023, the Frenchman has shown a promising pace in the 2024 season. He has taken three podiums and finished in the top-5 five times so far. The Pau native is just 33 points behind Ghirelli, which coincidentally matches his car number 33. Speedhouse has a strong lineup for the 2024 season and with Lasserre and Delsaux, the two Frenchmen have what it takes to be in the mix for the final three events of the season.
