The second edition of the NASCAR GP Germany at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben was a huge success – Fans were tied to the action at the track and online
Imagine walking through the fan zone at the race track and seeing tens of thousands of passionate NASCAR fans, country music concerts, family attractions, authentic memorabilia vendors, parties and campers directly parked at the fences of the race track to follow the action. You hear the most famous words of motorsports from a Grammy Award nominee and then 25 V8 engines roar and shake the earth. You think of being in Daytona or Talladega for a NASCAR Cup Series race, right? What if I tell you that this was the essence of the second edition of the NASCAR GP Germany at the unique Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
“This second NASCAR GP Germany at Oschersleben was the perfect illustration of the EuroNASCAR event concept with action-packed races, terrific American culture Festival around the track, and open access for fans in the paddock and the grid walks. We must thank Ralph Bonhorst and all the Motorsport Arena crew for their fantastic job as well as the thousands of fans for their confidence. NASCAR has definitely found its home in Germany.”
Motorsport Arena Oschersleben CEO Ralph Bohnhorst added just one sentence: “NASCAR finally arrived in Germany.”
The Star Spangled Banner hymn was played, the drivers went side-by-side to excite a huge crowd of 16,500 fans at the track. The growth of more than 25 percent in attendance proves: the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and EuroNASCAR improved a lot to make the NASCAR GP Germany a must-see and one of the best growing events on the EuroNASCAR schedule. The fans rewarded the hard work: V8 enthusiasts, families and racing fans met in a brilliantly organized fan zone to fill all grandstands around the challenging track in the near of the Magdeburg.
Fans not able to join the action on side, followed EuroNASCAR on social media and on the web. 500,000 impressions on social media and 25,000 engagements showed that the playoffs catch the emotions of the racing fans and bind them to the stories told in four thrilling double-points paying playoff races in Germany. 100,000 video views for the live streaming, highlights and stories rounded out a fantastic NASCAR race weekend in Germany.
