Master Trophy added to the OPEN division – The minimum age requirement has been raised in the Legend Trophy
- The NASCAR Euro Series introduces the Master Trophy in the OPEN championship
- The Master Trophy is intended for gentleman drivers and rookies fitting to the C grade
- The Legend Trophy’s minimum age has been raised to 45
One of the most exciting aspects of NASCAR Euro Series is the inclusion of several Trophies within both the PRO and OPEN championships. These special classifications allow the series to have races within a race and award special groups of drivers on the grid. The Trophies not only gives competitors more incentive to perform at their highest level, they also add to the excitement for all fans of the official European NASCAR championship. For the 2025 season, there will be some changes made to the Trophy system as the OPEN division will see the introduction of a new special classification: the Master Trophy.
The Master Trophy will replace Rookie Trophy on the list of special classifications contested in OPEN. The new class is open for all drivers that received a Grade C rating from NASCAR Europe. This means that the Master Trophy will include both debutants and gentleman drivers alike, making it an even more contested classification in a championship that places importance on both young talents and elite amateurs alike.
A major change will also be implemented to the Legend Trophy, one of OPEN division’s signature classifications. Starting from 2025, the minimum age will be raised from 40 to 45 years. This change keeps the spirit of rewarding veteran drivers intact while still maintaining the high bar of competition set by previous winners Claudio Remigio Cappelli and Melvin de Groot, both regular competitors for the trophy and for overall race wins. Additionally, a driver can only register to a maximum of one Trophy in their respective championship. This change will be applied across both PRO and OPEN. No changes have been made to the Lady Trophy in OPEN and the Junior and Challenger Trophy in PRO.
The 2025 NASCAR GP Spain at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia will open once again the NASCAR season in Europe. Scheduled for April 12-13, the NASCAR Euro Series’ return to their traditional season opening venue promises to bring more action and spectacle to the fans watching both at the track and on the official broadcast.
